garden rooms & annex buildings
We are currently constructing a large timber annex building with a deck area that over looks the properties private lake. This building will be a habitable annex with a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/diner with the bifold giving access to the deck.
Composite cladding and composite decking will keep the maintenance minimal and give the building a clean modern look that matches the main house we constructed in 2022.

Alterations
Structural alterations are arguably the most safety critical and complicated part of any build and yet there are no qualifications or training provided during any apprenticeship which we think needs to be addressed. Instead it takes years of hands on experience to develop the knowledge it takes to carry out these alterations competently without risk which is what we have. We still carry out these alterations in the same way that it has been done for decades, acro props and needles the tried and tested method where each kg being held up temporarily can be accounted for accurately. We do not use strong boys or any other attachments for anything other than minor alterations. All of our structural steel comes from a trusted local business who hold the relevant tickets to produce fabricated structural steel to the designs issued by the engineer. We have engineers we work with regularly and can recommend who produce calculations and drawings for building control for a reasonable fee.
